Christmas Cakes Sale at Big W Garden City

Every year from mid-November to Christmas Eve Macgregor Lions operate a stall at the entrance to the Big W Store in the Westfield Shopping Centre in Upper Mt Gravatt.

Statistics for Christmas cakes sold at Big W in 2009 (total Club sales in brackets):

Over 800 hours of members' time in manning the stall
395 x 1.0 kg cakes sold (34% of total sales of 1,170)
1,025 x 1.5 kg cakes sold (52% total sales of 1,965)
217 x 1.0 kg puddings sold (44% of total sales of 490)
Two raffles run
Hundreds of dollars received in donations from the public.

A big thank you to Big W for the opportunity provided to us and to the Community for the support. Every dollar raised goes to help the needy.

Create and foster understanding amongst peoples of the world

Fund and assist the disabled, disadvantaged and infirm

Our Ethics:

Remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear another's down

Always bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state and my community
Aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress
Be careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise
